    Prep

    Start with clean tools. Wash brushes on a ridged mat, then dry them flat in guard sleeves so the heads keep their shape.

  2. Buffing foundation onto a cheek with a cherry-red kabuki brush

    Base

    Warm handles. Buff foundation with the kabuki, press it in with a sponge, spot-conceal with the flat.

  3. Blending eyeshadow with a teal-handled blending brush

    Eyes

    Cool handles. Pack colour on the lid, blend the crease, then line along the lashes.

  4. Dusting setting powder with a large taupe powder brush

    Sculpt & set

    Neutral handles. Contour under the cheekbone, press powder under the eyes, veil the rest.
